About our providers HSA

HSA - a smart and simple health insurance option

With our providers HSA, you could reduce your health insurance
premiums and, at the same time, take advantage of new tax laws
that let you build savings for your future with a Health Savings
Account.

Two separate components work together to save you money

The HSA is made up of a
High Deductible Health Plan and a
personal Health Savings Account (HSA). The High Deductible
Health Plan is a Preferred Provider Organization plan - otherwise
known as a PPO plan - which means you pay less for your care
when you use providers in the plan's network. The Health Savings
Account is NOT your medical plan - it is an optional account that
you can use for health care expenses, but it is not your plan.

Together, these components are designed to help you save money
this year AND build tax-free savings for health care throughout
your lifetime. Here’s how:

  •  Lower premiums. The High Deductible Health Plan could
reduce your monthly premiums as much as 20 to 40 percent.
Use the money you save to fund your HSA up to eligible limits.

  •  Tax savings. HSA contributions are tax-deductible, and
withdrawals you make from the account aren’t taxed when
they’re used to pay for qualified medical expenses. Plus, you
start earning tax-free interest on the first dollar you deposit.

     unlike other tax-free savings vehicles.
  •  Weigh your options. Get information to help you compare the
HSA with a high-deductible plan against the traditional
     HumanaOne PPO plan.

Choosing an HSA-compatible individual health plan

To contribute to an HSA, your health plan must meet IRS requirements for a High Deductible Health Plan. Not all plans with
a high-deductible are considered High Deductible Health Plans.
The traditional Health Plan isn’t compatible with an HSA, even if you
choose a plan with a high-deductible.

If you meet the requirements and are in good health, then you may
be able to start saving right away!
